DHV - the world's largest professional association for paragliding and hang gliding pilots

The German Hang Gliding Association (DHV) currently has around 40,000 members and around 320 clubs. The level of organisation among paragliders and hang-gliders in Germany is high, with over 90% of pilots in Germany being members of the DHV. Hang gliding and paragliding can be pursued either individually or as a member of a club. Anyone not wishing to be a member of a club can become a direct member of the German Hanggliding Association DHV.

In addition to its function as a professional and sports association, the DHV also acts as a representative of the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) for official tasks in the area of training and terrain certification as well as an accredited testing centre for the testing and type testing of paragliders and hang gliders.
