Start place and landing field for paragliders and hanggliders Blättersberg/Weyer

The permission for the starting place Blättersberg/Weyer (administrative district southern Weinstrasse) with paragliders was admitted in January 2008. The lasting registration was possible, because was proved as a result of a monitoring programme that the use of the paraglider area with the preservation objectives of the protection of birds area 6514-401 "Haardtrand" in which the start place lies and to which essential shares of the flown area belong is acceptable.

To ascertain conceivable encroachments of bird's kinds especially to be protected, comparative avifaunistische captures were carried out in the years 2004, in 2005 and 2006 in the vicinity of the start place and landing field as well as the surfaces flown with Gleitflügen. The elevation in 2004 shows a "zero capture" before the admission of the paraglider flights. With the elevations in the years 2005 and 2006 the brood success of the especially protective-destitute kinds was documented; in 2005 specific observations had been carried out concerning possible behavioral conspicuities with overflights with paragliders.

The paraglider flights became from the south person from the Rhineland a paraglider club as to holder of rights of use and by the consultants takes the minutes on site.
In the immediate neighborhood of the start place no or other rare bird's kinds especially to be protected by the EU-protection of birds guideline were ascertained. The nanny goat milker for whom the surroundings of the start place seem suitable could not be ascertained during all three investigation years in spite of more specific seeking.

In the vicinity of the landing field and in areas which are flew with Gleitflügen by heights around or <100 m hatched as bird's kinds especially to be protected the grey-headed woodpecker, the moor lark, the Neuntöter, the turncoat (only in 2005) and the fence bunting. Neuntöter and fence bunting had increased in 2005 and 2006 towards in 2004 her brood inventories. The additional settlements followed among other things in areas with paraglider overflights by low height. The brood results were average (Neuntöter) or exceptionally (fence bunting). The turncoat had settled in 2005 temporarily. The moor lark in 2005 and 2006 lost her brood by the vineyard treatment.

Encroachments of the birds by paraglider flights were noticeable in no case. Observations of the birds in the nests in 2005 revealed no reactions on overflights. Grab birds and raven birds showed no aggression behaviour. Effects of the use of the area with paragliders and dragons on the Erhaltungszieledes of protection of birds area "Haardtrand" and for it decisive area components are not to be recognised.
