Karl Slezak explains the principles of active flying with paragliders. This requires a lot of practice, but is a precondition of flying safely in moving air. Some experienced pilots are in such perfect control of this game, that their wing always remains calmly above them. By applying the brakes and shifting the weight, they constantly react to increasing or decreasing control pressure and lifting or tilting movements of the harness.
