Airworthiness advisory Tow release freeX Control DHV 06-0027-98

On several tow releases type freeX Control manufactured from 09/2000 with red coloured frexX-logo, the stitching of the strap holding the smaller ring, came apart. This causes an one-sided pull on the tow release and therefore an asymmetric turning of the glider out of the tow direction. Tow releases with green or orange freeX-Logo are not affected.

In agreement with the manufacturer freeX Air Sports GmbH the DHV has decided on the following precautionary safety measure:

• All tow releases type "freeX Control" from manufacturing date 09/2000, recognizable on the red coloured freeX-Logo, must be checked.

The airworthiness instruction comes into force when published in the NFGH (paragliding and hanggliding news). The safety measures must be carried out before the next flight with the equipment.
