In extreme flying situations with frontal collapse and sudden reopening in the middle of the wing, a number of the upper first level lines have torn.
Advance will immediately supply the replacement lines for selffitting free of charge. We ask for your assistance during the call and support of the pilots in all questions concerning the modifications.
During the last 12 months, we received a feedback from four SIGMA 4 pilots who, in extreme flying situations with frontal collapse and fast reopening, broke some of the upper first level lines in the middle of the wing.
Despite immediate internal tests by our own test pilots, investigations by various line manufacturers, numerous discussions with DHV`s responsible and external specialists, no definitive explanation has yet been found.
The paraglider concerned is only the SIGMA 4, produced and delivered between August 1998 and August 2001.
Although it has not yet been possible to establish the exact reasons, ADVANCE has decided to replace the concerned lines by reinforced ones (main lines, middle and first level).
1. Advance asks all the owners of a SIGMA 4 to contact their local agent.
2. Advance will immediately send to the concerned pilots the replacement lines for selffitting, free of charge.
Advance recommends replacing the lines as soon as possible.
