On opening a Paraglider emergency equipment
Amigo P1 the following problems were discovered:
- The force required to open the equipment could
be higher than permitted because the Velcros on the out-side container are too wide.
Emergency equipment from the Series number 365 - 400 are affected.
- Glue residue from inappropriate self gluing
name plates can stick the panels of the canopy together. Emergency equipment from the
Series number 365 - 457 are affected.
In agreement with the previous manufacturer
Schlager und Strobel and the present manufacturer Michael Engelhardt the DHV has decided
on the following precautionary Safety measures:
- All paraglider emergency equipment of the
design Amigo P1 from the Serial numbers 365 - 457 must be checked and reworked by the
manufacturer.
This airworthiness instruction came into
force when it was published in the News for Paragliders and Hang Gliders (NfGH). The
safety measures must be carried out before the equipment is used again.
The reworking can be done through the present
manufacture Michael Engelhardt, Fly For Fun, Müllerstr. 10, 80469 München, Tel:
089/2603200, Fax: 089/2603338.
