A number of pilots have noted unusually high forces required to deploy the reserve parachute from its container in the above harnesses.
The problem occurs when the nylon band connecting the deployment handle and splints has moved to become sandwiched between the surrounding Velcro, and the Velcro has been left closed for a long period of time. The band then begins to stick to the Velcro, hence requiring additional force to deploy. (see figure 1 - right).

Sup Air recommends one of the following solutions:
- Do not allow the nylon band to lay over the velcro when packing the reserve parachute in its container, carefully ensure that it is placed in the fold between the Velcro attachments. (See figure 1 - left).
- Alternatively, the hook side of the Velcro can be partially covered in the middle, to prevent the nylon bad sticking to it. (See figure 2). A compatible cover is available from Aerosport International or Sup Air free of charge, for all owners of this harness.

The harness should be suspended and the pilot seated as when flying to aid the coordination of the necessary movements and forces required for a perfect deployment, that in the event of an emergency, delays are prevented.
